The Knightly News – Council 11091
From the Grand Knight’s Desk
“If not us, Who? If not now, When?”
— John F Kennedy
Another month has flown by….. We started October by beginning renovations on McDonnell Hall. The initial work looks and sounds great. We added a new sound system as well as new smoke detectors. We replaced all burnt out light bulbs and replaced all ballast that were not functioning. This is in addition to removing old ceiling tile and replacing with new tile. We still have approximately 15% of ceiling tile to complete. We will work on this as time permits. We also have committed to SMM that we will purchase a new projection screen and possibly a projector. We also need to purchase at least one wireless microphone.
In the kitchen, the old cabinet under old sink has been removed. We have purchased sink and faucet. We are waiting on quotes to have sink professionally installed. We may also have to replace grease trap. The ceiling will be repaired and painted and new light fixtures will be installed this month.
This is only the start of the renovation progress and I ask each and every one of you to help us complete the renovation. It is a great gift for us to give to our Parish. Also, I would be remiss if I did not thank all the Knights who have helped with the project thus far. Thank you!
Dave Frendreiss and crew ran another great Poker Tournament and raised almost $500 for charity while a great time was had by all. We look forward to this great event to grow larger and more successful as more Knights and friends learn about how fun an evening it is. This is a great way for each of us to invite a Catholic friend and recruit them.
We also hosted a major Degree at our school this past weekend. We had 4 new First Degree Knights and 10 new Third Degree Knights. There were no candidates from our Council. The First Degree Team from our Council did an awesome job as always and I thank all of them on behalf of our Council. During the Third Degree we had another Knight from 11091 do a great job. Nice Job SK Mike Barrett.
We have another busy month planned for November:
