KOFC – Council 11091 Newsletter
My Worthy Brothers,
DGK Jerry and I had a great time networking with other councils as well as our state officers at the 126th State Convention. Huge thanks to Tom McCabe, Dan Limbach and Greg Freund for manning the nativity set booth on Friday and Ken Priggie, Rick Orabutt, Tom Lorenz and Keith Einecker for taking on Saturday’s shift. We had lots of interest from other councils participating in the construction aspect, much like the Rockford council. Council 11091 walked away with 4 awards, Illinois in Action Bronze, Respect Life Program Division AA 2nd Place, General Assistance Fund Division AA 3rd Place, and 2 charity stars. Following the State Convention was Memorial Day, I hope everyone had the chance to visit the Wall that Heals at Randall Oaks and had time to reflect on those brave men and women that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
June is host to many changes, this will be my final newsletter, final general meeting, final officers meeting and final month as Grand Knight. I want to personally thank all the PGK’s as well as the council for a fantastic year. I had a great team of officers and look forward to Jerry Gard taking over as Grand Knight in July. The officer’s installation is still TBD, be on the lookout for an email with the date, time and location. I look forward to seeing all of you at the General meeting.
