March is finally upon us and Spring is right around the corner, we had a successful month of February, council 11091 brought home 1st place at the Rockford Diocese bowling tournament on 2/3 with our team (Greg Freund, Greg Parrish, Mark Ostrowski, and Jerry Ahler) heading down to Peoria for the finals on March 23rd. Feed my starving children took place 2/7 with 131 boxes packed feeding 77 children for a year. We are half way through Lent and already have 2 fish fries under our belt. The 1st, on 2/15, sold over 270 meals and the 2nd, on 3/1, selling over 320. Our 3rd and final fish fry will be held on March 15th. Breakfast with the Easter bunny “lite” was a huge success with over 170 meals served. With the recap out of the way, this Saturday, the 16th annual Shamrock Shave will be held in McDonnell Hall with dinners being served starting at 5pm. As I said, we are about half way through our Lenten season, let us continue to fast and pray as we follow the path of our Lord Jesus.
