From the Grand Knight
My Brothers,
What a month it’s been, starting with the deceased brother’s mass, then going to the Christmas Tree lot set up, followed by 259 Christmas trees arriving, lastly ending our month spreading thanksgiving to 35 recruits from Great Lakes Naval Base. Thank you to all that participated and volunteered their time.
We had a great turn out for Nativity set up, we have 11 sites this year, if you see any damage or lights out, please feel free to attempt repairs. If you are not able to take care of it, please contact Kevin Fitzgerald or Ken Prigge.
Our Christmas tree lot is in full swing, if you haven’t already signed up for a shift, please contribute any time you can, it’s greatly appreciated. Santa is making his way south stopping in Algonquin for our Christmas party 12/16, please RSVP to Larry O’Brien if you haven’t already. Santa will be spending the night to visit us at our “Breakfast with Santa” 12/17, please come on out to lend a hand and bring the kiddos for a free picture with jolly old St. Nick. Our busy season will conclude with our Knight before Christmas, if you know of someone that would be interested in becoming a Knight, bring them over to McDonnell Hall Thursday 12/21 at 8pm.
In conclusion, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas both as Catholics and Knights. I hope to see everyone soon to wish you and your family’s good cheer.
Vivat Jesus
