KOFC – Council 11091 Newsletter
From the Grand Knight:
Worthy Brothers:
As I write this, it finally starts to look like winter. We are in a quiet time of our year, but that would not stand. We have added a pasta dinner for February 11th. Keep an eye on email for additional information and how to help. There is also a fourth degree exemplification on February 11th. In the nearer term, we have a blood drive scheduled for this Sunday, February 5th. Give ‘til it hurts, so to speak. It really doesn’t hurt, except the band aid on my hairy arm.
In the near future, the series of fish fry events come up. These events are a great opportunity for recruiting as well as brotherhood within the council. Please consider participating in our food events. They are great family friendly days for the entire family. I look forward to an abundance of manpower.
Let’s remember though, the most important time of the year is coming, Lent. Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday is February 21. Enjoy a Pączki before the penance of Lent. This is the most rewarding time in the church. I love it. It may be too soon but Lent culminating in Holy Week is such a celebration. Let’s not forget, we will be into MLB spring training by then too.
Also, in all of this, let’s not forget to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Our wives are our greatest cheerleaders and best supporters. Make sure that they know we support, love and cheerlead for them as well.
I hope to see you all at the general meeting Thursday. Come out, help out and speak out. We have a great council and participation is the key to our success…
Vivat Jesus,
Kevin Fitzgerald
