2022-07 Knightly News Worthy Brothers,

As I begin my Grand Knight year, I have a poorly timed vacation. I apologize that I will not be able to attend the first meeting. I trust Dave F. will do a great repeat performance!

We have some busy times coming up. Founders’ Days is a great place for old and new Knights alike. Many hands make light work. With many hands there is also time to just enjoy the day at the park. Please take some time to help, especially for setup and takedown, since those will be weekday activities. We also have the Hammer Open coming in August. If you enjoy golf at any
skill level, you will enjoy this event. Please consider coming out to play.

My Grand Knight year marks some major changes:

First, we say goodbye to two of our leaders and mentors. Our beloved pastor and Chaplain, Fr. Witold and Fr. Peter (Formerly pastor and Chaplain) will both be greatly missed. We wish them well in their new assignments. Shortly, we will welcome two new priests to the parish. I look forward to their faith, leadership, and guidance in the years to come.

Second, we enter a new era in The United States. With the Supreme Court action on Roe v. Wade, the Knights have won a long-fought victory. Make no mistake, I fully support the rights of women. I also fully support the right of an unborn child. The woman has a voice. The unborn child has none. We MUST continue to be the voice for that child! As I know my brother Knights, I have no doubt that we will continue to be that voice. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court decision has energized the pro-abortion movement. We have only witnessed the first skirmish of a long, righteous battle.

I would like to reiterate, reinforce, and build upon my previous comments regarding passion. Passion in all that we do will show the world, and our future Knights, that we are performing good works, informed by faith. Be passionate in our love for Mary. We need the Mother of Jesus (patron Saint of Mothers) more than ever, in the days, months and even years to come.

As your Grand Knight, I am here to serve. Please reach out to me with ideas/issues. Please attend meetings, when possible (Like, not on vacation). Please participate in our events. You are the Knights of Columbus and I look forward to seeing all that we can accomplish together.

Vivat Jesus.
