From the Grand Knight

Worthy Brothers:

HO HO HO… Merry Christmas! As we enter the most festive month, I want to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas. The tree lot is up and running. If you have seen previous messages, please sign up to help sell some trees. It is always fun to display trees for a family and help them take home the perfect decoration for their home. There has been a small crew putting in most of the hours and they could use help.

Our Adopt-a-Sailor was a huge success! I did not count but I heard we had 34-36 recruits. It is always touching to see how appreciative they are for the hospitality and the ability to call home. There was an overflowing cornucopia of food. The turnout from the council and parish in general was amazing. This is just one more example of a small idea that has become a wonderful tradition.

A big thank you to all that helped put up our community Nativity sets. We have ten sites this year. Keep an eye out. If you see damage or lights out, feel free to attempt repairs. If you are not in a position to take care of it, contact me (Kevin) or Ken Prigge. Also, we may have lost a site to the “modern” attitude. That said, as Knights, let us always remember the reason for the season. Let’s have fun and festive times, but always keep in mind that Christ is at the heart of all.

Speaking of fun and festive times, the invitation to the Knights’ Christmas Party is out there. This is a great time to spend with Knights and family. Great food, games, and fellowship makes this a fun evening. See the invite for more details. Make sure that you get up early the next morning for breakfast with the Big Guy.

One of the most enjoyable Knights events of the year is Breakfast with Santa. I hope to see all in attendance, working or eating. Men can cook; no experience needed. I am told that the coffee is awesome too. Also, there is no charge for breakfast, but charitable donations are always welcome.

As I conclude, I reiterate Merry Christmas! Bring passion to the season. Display your faith; live your faith. Share your faith! Be charitable. Be festive. Be open. Enjoy family and friends. I hope to see everyone and wish you a Merry Christmas in person soon.

Vivat Jesus
